Persuasion

How are values and attitudes conveyed in the film and the novel? In the novel Persuasion by Jane Austen and the film Becoming Jane place by Julian Jerr out of date, both texts presented ideas of gender, marriage, wealth and social coterie that shaped the attitudes, values and social etiquette in the early ordinal century. The protagonists in both texts, Anne Elliot and Jane Austen were characters who defied and ch eitherenged those ideas. Gender was an important construct socially and economically in the 19th century as custody and women had different roles in family.
